The driver charged over the deaths of four people in a crash at Pine Lodge in January has had his bail extended, but this time there is a $270,000 surety attached.
Harinder Singh, 41, of Shepparton, faced Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Monday, July 10 in a committal mention.
He has been charged with four counts of dangerous driving causing the death of his four passengers.
The four people who died in the crash have been named as Baljinder Singh, Harpel Singh, Bhupinder Sandu and Krishen Singh. They were visiting from overseas at the time of the crash.
Mr Singh is also facing a charge of failing to stop for a stop sign at Pine Lodge North Rd where it intersects with Cosgrove-Lemnos Rd.
The crash occurred about 4.45pm on January 4 when a car and a ute collided at the intersection.
The ute driver was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Mr Singh suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the crash.
On Monday his bail was extended with the surety and conditions that also include he not leave Australia.
He will appear in court again in August.
