Could Deni be seeing another new addition to the business landscape?

Hot on the heels of popular chain RB Sellars opening in Deni in mid-December, it would seem the Deni CBD is due for another shake-up.
While there is no official word from the company yet, Pets Domain has started advertising on the popular employment sites for a retail store manager to be based in Deniliquin.
It’s been many years since Deniliquin had a dedicated pet store, so the prospect of a Pets Domain store in town would be a real point of excitement.
These stores are usually stocked with most things you need for dogs, cats, reptiles, fish, birds and even livestock and other large animals.

Speaking of the Deni Ute Muster, one of the event’s popular around the grounds providers has been rubbing shoulders with Hollywood royalty this week.
Peter Hodges and his camels are being used in Liam Neeson’s latest movie, The Mongoose, which is currently being filmed in Victoria.
The Mongoose stars Neeson as Ryan ‘Fang’ Flanagan, a war hero wrongfully accused of a crime.
With nothing to lose, he leads the police on an epic televised cross-country car chase, assisted by members of his former Special Forces army battalion, as a fascinated public cheers him on.
The film is directed by veteran stunt professional Mark Vanselow and boasts a star-studded lineup, including Oscar winner Marisa Tomei, Mission Impossible star Ving Rhames and Emmy winner Michael Chiklis (The Shield).
Although The Mongoose is being filmed primarily in Bacchus Marsh, Castlemaine and Bangholme, Mr Hodge’s scenes were shot at Wilson’s Quarry in Altona over two days in late January.
So if you indulge in a camel ride at this year’s muster, you might be climbing on a Hollywood star.
‘Ripper’ night for men
Well over 160 people turned up for the Moulamein Men’s Health Night and Sportsman’s Night.
Hosted by the Moulamein Bowling Club and supported by Murray Irrigation, it featured health information and a chance to hear from AFL legends Brian ‘BT’ Taylor and Matthew ‘Richo’ Richardson.
Bowling Club president Ian ‘China’ Gibson - who was meant to speak but had to get a stand-in at the last-minute - said it was a huge success.
“Thank you to the counterfeit China, John Harper, for his talk on depression and how you should look after your mates,” China said.
“Richo and BT put on a great show and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.
“Everyone was well-fed and watered.
“We needed $5000 to put a machine in our club for a month, so Richo and BT got on their phones and organised a day out at the Dreamtime Game with a few extra privileges and bang.
“More than $5000 was bid for the prize, and we have our machine.
“Well done to all those that organised this great event. Who knows. We may have saved a life or two.”
