Museum of Vehicle Evolution executive officer Peter Hill announced his resignation from the MOVE board on Monday, May 1.
Mr Hill played a significant role in the establishment of the museum and had been serving as executive officer since 2018.
The MOVE board said he had been instrumental in securing the support and sponsorship of local and interstate transport operators, which helped the museum become the “amazing attraction” it is today.
Mr Hill leaves having secured many function bookings well into the future, with the Ford GT club recently agreeing to be involved in next year’s Melbourne to MOVE rally.
Mr Hill said it was time to move on and let someone else continue the work he and the board had initiated.
He said he was confident the incoming executive officer would maintain the momentum and lead the museum to greater heights.
Mr Hill said he would remain as a caretaker and mentor to the incoming executive officer, and that he intended to seek a board position.
Mr Hill will transition into a lead management role with HomeSafe GV.
MOVE staff, volunteers and board members said they wished him success in his new role and looked forward to his continued presence in the museum and seeing his beloved 1965 Thunderbird.
The MOVE board members said they would soon begin the search for a new executive officer and looked forward to working with the new appointee to continue the museum’s success story.
