Siale Pitson and Georgia Moody both have relocated to work in their select fields as part of the Nutrien Ag Solutions Graduate Program in Deniliquin.
Ms Pitson grew up not too far from here, just outside of Bendigo.
A trainee livestock agent, she said she was drawn to Nutrien Deniliquin by the opportunity to work between Hay, Deniliquin and Finley.
She will be able to use what she learned in her agribusiness management and agronomy course with Longerenong Ag College.
Meanwhile, Ms Moody is an overseas recruit for Nutrien Deniliquin.
The graduate agronomist made the journey from Feilding, in the north island of New Zealand.
She entered the program after completing a degree in agriculture with honours in wheat and nitrogen at Lincoln University in New Zealand.
Ms Moody said the career opportunities offered by the Nutrien graduate program enticed her to register, and to come to Deniliquin Nutrien Ag Solutions.
“I was looking to advance my career in agronomy, and the Nutrien Ag grad program looked like a really good option, and really well-structured,” she said.
“It also seemed like a great rural adventure and opportunity to work and develop in the agriculture industry, and I thought why not.
“I applied for the Nutrien grad program, and they offered me a place in Deni which I took.
“It’s a really good branch in Deniliquin. It’s full of experienced people, which is what you want when you’re a graduate, and you’re just starting out.”
“It's also a great farming community, that’s well set up and also really forward-thinking.”
“It’s all been a great opportunity.”
Both said they are in good hands at Nutrien, and have been made to feel welcome in Deniliquin.
Ms Pitson said she is “loving it”, with a particular highlight being several “good mentors” helping her with her journey as a livestock agent.
