Greater Shepparton City Council advises that completion of the works is expected by Friday, October 14, weather permitting.
The works area will be under traffic control and partial road closure between 7am and 7pm.
During construction Broken River Dve will be closed from Palmer Rd to Archer St and Hastings Ave from Wimmera Dr to Broken River Dve while asphalt works are undertaken. Residents living in the area will have access to their properties, with some delays expected during construction.
Council to attend global expo
Greater Shepparton City Council will attend Asia Fruit Logistica next month, to investigate and pursue potential opportunities for international trade across the region.
At an Additional Council Meeting held on Tuesday, October 4, councillors authorised Mayor Shane Sali to attend the expo in Bangkok, Thailand, alongside council’s manager of economic development and the economic development project officer.
The Greater Shepparton delegation will host a stand at the event in partnership with Fruit Growers Victoria and local growers.
This will be the fourth time council has led a delegation to the global expo, which presents an opportunity to support one of Greater Shepparton’s largest industry sectors, partner with local growers and market the region as the fruit capital of Australia and a place to do business and invest.
“Greater Shepparton’s agricultural industry outputs $765 million in produce every year and our significant horticulture industry equates to $328 million, the majority of which is exported around the world,” Cr Sali said.
“Having a trade stand at the expo will increase awareness of the region’s horticultural offering and build on the opportunity for agreements to be negotiated between overseas buyers and local growers.
“Our region’s fruit growers are supportive of this initiative and several will be attending to have trade negotiations.”
The Asia Fruit Logistica is on from Wednesday, November 2 to Friday, November 4.

Apply now for election jobs
Applications are still open to work at the state election in November and contribute to Victorian democracy.
The Victorian Electoral Commission is seeking casual staff to help deliver a secure, transparent and fair election.
Anyone over 18, who is an Australian citizen or permanent resident, or holds a current work visa, is eligible to apply to work with the VEC for one day or up to four weeks in a variety of roles.
Voting centres and early voting centres will be located across the state, and people are encouraged to apply for election work anywhere in Victoria.
Election staff develop skills in administration, customer service and teamwork, and enjoy a unique working experience.
People interested in working at the election can register at vec.vic.gov.au/workatelections
The Australian Electoral Commission has also stated that enrolled voters who obtain a new driver’s licence or passport number as a result of the recent Optus data breach will not need to update their electoral enrolment.
Electoral Commissioner Tom Rogers said the announcement provided certainty for voters affected by the data breach.
“We know that electoral enrolment won’t be front of mind for somebody affected by a data breach, and for the vast majority of voters it won’t have to be at all,” Mr Rogers said.
“The AEC regularly receives licence and passport information from our partners in federal, state and territory governments, which means a change to your licence or passport number will not affect your enrolment.”
