Liz Baxter has stepped into the role of president following a successful year under the outgoing president’s tenure.
“Liz has already served as secretary and treasurer of the club, and she brings a wealth of experience and knowledge and is the ideal candidate to preside over the club for the coming year,” publicity officer Helen Taverner said.
"We’ve got a new activities officer, and we’ve got a new treasurer. Jenny Haynes is now the treasurer, and she was a previous president.
“There are still a couple of vacant positions, but I’m sure we’ll fill them in the next month.”
In the meeting, outgoing president Trevor Rickard recapped the vibrant social calendar the members were offered throughout the year.
He thanked all the members who volunteered their time to co-ordinate them.
Ms Taverner said that it’s not just the big events like the upcoming five-day trip to Wagga that excite people in the club, but the times in between when they can hang out together.
“We have these other activities in between, which really creates a bond between us, and it gives people an opportunity to get out and see what’s in our neighbourhood,” she said.
