This adaptable, opt-in program offers tailored support, including financial assistance, to eligible parents and carers of young children, easing the juggling act between family life and career or study aspirations.
CVGT Employment’s Specialist Program Manager Silva Tecer said CVGT Employment’s Parent Pathway program is more than just a service, it’s a community.
“Our service offers a supportive and flexible environment where participants can connect with resources and qualified mentors to achieve their goals,” she said.
The new Parent Pathways service will replace the existing ParentsNext program from the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (DEWR).
This transition is based on extensive consultations with parents, focusing on their needs and aspirations for themselves and their families.
Parents and stakeholders have played, and will continue to play, a significant role in the development and implementation of the new service.
“Whether you’re receiving parenting payment, carer payment, or special benefit, and have a child under six years old, this program is tailored for you,” Ms Tecer said.
“Voluntary participants can expect a safe, child-friendly, and welcoming environment that ensures comfort and confidentiality.
“Flexible appointment times will ensure support fits your family commitments.”
Participants will connect with qualified mentors who understand the challenges of balancing parenthood and work, receive financial assistance to achieve their employment and education goals, and access resources and services to support their journey.
Most importantly, they will feel heard, supported, valued, and understood.
CVGT Employment’s Chief Executive Officer Jason Russell said that after 40 years of delivering comprehensive employment services, they are excited to deliver the Parent Pathways program.
“This new program launch reflects our commitment to providing practical support and flexible services that build skills, confidence and readiness for work," he said.
“Our team builds relationships with local agencies, including childcare providers and community organisations, to give parents and carers the support they need.”
CVGT Employment is proud to deepen its roots in Seymour by employing local talent and extending its reach to nearby areas, ensuring more parents and carers in our community can access this vital support.
