As chief executive of Better Together Alliance for the past three years, her role involved building strong networks across the four government secondary schools in Greater Shepparton and the wider community, ensuring each was well positioned to take advantage of future educational possibilities.
After moving from Melbourne for this role, Ms Gunn became quickly immersed in Shepparton and its vibrant and active community.
Last year, she completed the Fairley Leadership Program, which enabled her to further help the community.
‘‘It is one of the best things I’ve ever done as we all worked towards the same goals and causes,’’ Ms Gunn said.
She credits the program for her own strong personal growth and an increased self-confidence in her ability to lead and create change.
‘‘I learned so much about the region and built great networks,’’ she said.
Ms Gunn is delighted to join the program as facilitator this month.
‘‘I’m looking forward to meeting the 2019 participants and supporting them throughout the year, as they further develop their community leadership skills and learn more about the issues affecting the region,’’ she said.
In its 20th year, the Fairley Leadership Program has celebrated about 550 graduates, providing each with the opportunity to build individual leadership capacity and educate emerging leaders about the challenges and opportunities impacting on the Goulburn Murray region.
This year’s participants will be announced at a launch on Wednesday, February 6 at Eastbank, Shepparton.
