These sessions at the Shepparton Senior Citizens Centre aim to connect NDIS participants, their families and service providers with essential information and support.
In the morning, from 9.30am to noon, NDIS participants, their families and advocates are invited to engage with NDIS commission representatives.
This session is designed to enlighten attendees on the commission’s roles and how it can assist in selecting quality supports and services, besides offering guidance on how to address feedback or complaints about NDIS service providers.
Following a 30-minute presentation at 10am, the floor will be open for individual questions and discussions, rounded off with a morning tea.
NDIS assistant commissioner Mahashini Krishna said the drop-in session was part of a wider commitment to ensuring NDIS participants and their supporters could voice their concerns and seek resolutions directly with the commission.
“It’s also a pivotal opportunity for us to guide providers on adhering to their obligations under the NDIS code of conduct,” she said.
Registration for the morning session is encouraged at https://bit.ly/SheppartonParticipants.
The afternoon session, running from 1pm to 4pm, is tailored for both registered and unregistered NDIS providers.
It will offer a platform to understand the commission’s role, the NDIS code of conduct, and an open Q and A session with the commission staff.
The code mandates providers to act with integrity, respect individual rights, and uphold freedom of expression, among other standards.
Both sessions will take place at the Shepparton Senior Citizens Centre, located at 132 Welsford St, Shepparton.
Providers are asked to pre-register their attendance on Eventbrite: https://bit.ly/SheppartonProviders
