Stacey Jacobs has been operating the business on Bridge St for almost eight months.
“When I approached the former owner to see if she wanted to sell I was in the process of formulating my protein powders, which I’ve been doing for the past 20 years,” Stacey said.
“I have a background in infant formula and dairy, as most people know from Jacobs Dairy.
“After taking Good Vibes over it took a little while to see how things went and decide which path to take.”
That path included opening a coffee shop and juice bar.
And she has used her background in sports nutrition to create some truly unique health foods and drinks.
“Those include protein smoothies, acai bowls, organic coffee and aloe shots for gut health,” Stacey said.
“People have different nutritional needs, which is why we add certain ingredients into a formulation.
“It’s not just a case of add three fruits and milk or water. There’s more to it, and with the 20 years experience I have I can incorporate that.”
Stacey is also selling Mansfield organic coffee (latte, espresso, flat white and all your favourites), green teas, black teas, sticky chai latte and masala chais.
“We have our cakes fridge now. That will have all local produce, and will cater for gluten-free, vegan, and other diets,” she said.
"You can have gluten-free scones with jam and cream. We’ll also have a range of salads you can buy for sit in or take away.
“On weekends we’ll have our chairs and tables out.”
On top of the new juice bar and coffee shop Good Vibes still stocks all your favourites.
“We have the silver creek sour doughs, Milawa eggs and organic milk, Cherry Tree meats and Milawa chicken,” Stacey said.
“And we still have all our beauty products. The organic bulk foods are one of our best sellers.”
As you only buy as much as you need you can save money and minimise waste.
“Yesterday I had a lady come in wanting 25kg bags of one of our bulk materials,” Stacey said.
“So we can get that in for her every week, whether its 1kg, 25kg or even 50kg.
“We still serve my Jacobs Dairy cream. That was a big hit over Christmas so that will be back in stock soon. And maybe later on we’ll do bulk milk.
“It will be from a Riverina farm and people can bring a glass bottle in, fill it up here and that way it is more sustainable, similar to what we did with Jacobs Dairy.”
Ms Jacobs also took on some stock from Rustik Cafe and Food store when it closed in February.
“Rustik offered Good vibes their remaining stock to which we will continue to supply for our community,” she said.
One of the Stacey’s mantras is to support local businesses and you will find produce such as Little Ceder goats cheese, produced in Winton, in store.
“I know what it’s like with the struggles we are all going through post-COVID, and as much I can, I really want to try and promote and support other local businesses,” she said.
You can find Good Vibes Wholefoods at 65 Bridge St East. It is open Monday to Friday from 9.30am to 5pm; and Saturday from 9.30am to 1pm. There are also plans afoot to open on a Sunday morning in the future.
