It’s part of the football-netball club’s efforts to ensure all fans, regardless of their financial position, can go and barrack for the mighty Tigers.
Club president Justin Cleary looks forward to ensuring all residents enjoy the footy and netball for the 2024 season as the successful My Shout initiative gives a helping hand to Rochester residents.
Mr Cleary spoke of the town’s recent difficulties and how important small gestures were in offering a united sense of purpose.
“We wanted everybody in the community to be able to come together to the football or netball for free,” Mr Cleary said.
“Last year, the support was so strong, and we aim to do that again this year and give every family in Rochester and the surrounding area an opportunity to access local games in Rochester.
With the success of the My Shout initiative last year, the organisation wondered if the program would be equally successful this time around.
“Go to the Rochester Tigers webpage or the Facebook page and find out how to support a great team with a fantastic history,” Mr Cleary said.
The program was a huge success last year, with the club raising enough money to purchase 1000 club memberships in support.
Now, the proud club looks to match that feat this year. The aim is for the membership drive to again support a club that has seen more than its fair share of challenges.
“If we could match it, that would be overwhelming,” Mr Cleary said.
“We will be grateful with whatever we are able to raise. We have already sold quite a few memberships and hope to sell many more over the next few weeks.”
A membership for the Rochester Tigers costs between $50 and $100.
