Organiser Kathy Fuller said the important thing was for everyone to “think pink and have fun”.
“The main part of the day is honouring those we’ve lost, supporting those going through breast cancer and it’s an opportunity for the community to come together and wrap around each other,” she said.
“We’re also raising awareness and funds for research – it could be the last registration, that last extra dollar, that allows that research to go ahead.”
The event starts at 9am with formalities before the 2km and 4km walk, and 8km run, start.
Radiation oncologist Dr Grace Ong will be the guest speaker and Bella Ainsworth will MC the event.
Community groups supporting the event include the Shepparton Canoe Club as “water walkers” and the Shepparton Runners Club.
“We call them our running tutus of joy because they go out on the 8km course and if anyone wants to pace with them they can or they just make sure everyone’s having fun,” Ms Fuller said.
Goulburn Valley Landcare Network will be on site again, giving away native trees and shrubs for those who wish to honour a mum by planting one in their garden.
