Travis Owen from Morley Auto Group said they wanted the Toyota Corolla to be passed on to an organisation in the community.
“We consulted with CLRS about local organisations that would benefit the most from a brand new vehicle,” he said.
“The Cancer Centre just seemed like the most logical idea as it is incredibly important to our entire community, us included.
“We hope this vehicle can give patients greater access to critical treatment.”
Clinical liaison project officer at ERH Lyn Jeffreson said the donation of the vehicle was much appreciated.
“Having a dedicated vehicle for the Cancer Centre will enable us to extend and complement services that are offered at the centre by delivering specialist oncology care to patients at home,” Ms Jeffreson said.
“We will look to offer specialist cancer nursing care, care planning and possibly some appropriate therapies in the home as the service develops.
“The team are excited to move into the centre in the near future and look forward to being able to offer a more flexible service to the community.”
ERH’s acting executive director of Nursing Michelle Shingles said the donation of the car was “well timed.”
“The timing has all worked out really well as the facility will soon be completed and ready for opening,” Ms Shingles said.
Morley Auto Group organised the branding of the vehicle with the Echuca Regional Health logo.
