Spirits will be far from dampened with an assortment of live music, food, yoga classes, and art and DJ workshops featured from noon to 5pm.
Also included on the agenda is a BMX, skate and scooter competition.
No beginner will be out of their depth, as the day offers a skate workshop from professional riders to keep the wipeouts to a minimum.
City of Greater Shepparton Mayor Shane Sali said Recover Together was a free event that had been planned by young people for young people.
“Everyone knows our region has had a tough few months following the October 2002 flood event,” he said.
“The Greater Shepparton region and its residents were significantly impacted in many ways ... We can often forget that the younger generations also feel the effects of emergency events such as a flood.
“Recover Together is an afternoon just for them — a chance for our young people to come together, have some fun, have a skate or scooter ride, take part in a workshop and enjoy some food.”
Event organisers Greater Shepparton City Council in partnership with Freeza, the Victorian Government, Youth Affairs Council Victoria and Headspace advise that Recover Together is an alcohol, smoke and drug free festival.
