With the recent completion of upgrades to holes 10, 11 and 12, the next stage of the plans are to become more significant, including new facilities.
A new driving range is expected to open by year's end.
Club manager Craig Prothero said a modern designed clubhouse and accommodation is in the pipeline.
“By pushing everything towards where the old holes were we can work building the new facilities," he said.
“Once the driving range is open our next step is the accommodation.
“We have to look at other streams of revenue. We don't have functions as such or accommodation.
“Shepparton is in huge demand for accommodation; every weekend it's booked out so why not tap into that market.
“We want to bring people to Mooroopna and put the town on the map."
Prothero said parking is one of the club's biggest headaches.
The club has about 100 spaces but upgrades to the facility could double it.
Prothero said the three upgraded holes are a new challenge for golfers.
“There isn't a huge change to holes; they're a fraction similar and the par is still the same,” he said.
“It's very open out there because we planted 2000 trees and we have to give them time to grow.”
The holes cost about $600 000 and the final cost to the facilities could exceed $10 million.
Mooroopna Golf Club was recently boosted by the big sponsorship deal with Peter Cardamone Real Estate.
Cardamone said he was continuing to support local sporting clubs.
“Mooroopna Golf Club is leading the way in helping to promote the community.
“They consistently host a core group of local people that meet there and are long time residents of Mooroopna; that's something I want to ensure we support.”
