Mooroopna Hospice Fundraisers and Karz Café recently presented GV Hospice with a cheque for $10,497.90 to purchase two portable oxygen concentrators.
These portable machines allow people who need a constant oxygen supply to carry the small handbag-sized machine that creates oxygen, with a supply they can recharge in the car and not run out, with no ongoing costs.
Karz Café in McLennan St, Mooroopna, continues to offer support to GV Hospice through regular garage sales and donations through the café, organised by proprietor Stephen Murphy.
The two groups combined their resources to purchase the two machines.
In a case of positive karma, the first person to use one of the machines was Beverly Moore who, with her husband, James Moore, used to actively participate with the Mooroopna Hospice Fundraisers.
“This machine allows me to have an improved quality of life because I can get out more often and I don’t have to worry that I will run out of oxygen in a tank,” Mrs Moore said.
