Extra-curricular coordinator Fiona Gibbs spoke about the live performances that took place.
“Students found it thrilling to perform at Hopwood Gardens — the ‘buzz’ of people spontaneously stopping to watch the performance amongst the busy traffic going past added to the excitement,” Mrs Gibbs said.
The Pop-Up Performances also included several aged care facilities and retirement villages in Echuca-Moama.
“Performing for residents at the retirement village and aged care facilities was extremely rewarding; the students’ singing evoked appreciation and joy from our audiences,” Mrs Gibbs said.
“Students truly showcased their professionalism by singing at five different venues in total, with up to six songs at each — it was a marathon of singing and students persevered admirably.
“The choir has been rehearsing once a week since the beginning of the year; each rehearsal includes singing warm-ups and movement activities before singing through selected repertoire with piano accompaniment.
“The students are enthusiastic and quick learners, so it takes only around four to five rehearsals to learn a new piece, and another one or two sessions to integrate choreography.”

It has been a big year for the choir, with the singers performing on many occasions including at school assemblies, concerts, at Christ Church’s ‘Hymnfest,’ and a highlight was performing at the Bendigo Eisteddfod last June, where they performed three pieces and won the novice division.
