Minor flooding is possible at Benalla and Casey weir from overnight Wednesday.
In the 24 hours to 11am Wednesday, up to 126 mm of rainfall had been recorded across the Broken River catchment, causing river level rises.
Further rainfall is forecast across the Broken River catchment for the remainder of Wednesday and into Thursday.
Minor flooding may develop along the Broken River at Benalla Wednesday evening and extend downstream to Casey Weir Thursday morning.
The Broken River at Casey Weir is currently at 0.70 metres and rising, below the minor flood level and may reach the minor flood level (2.10 m) Thursday morning.

Road closures:
- Swanpool-Lima Rd is closed at Chinaman’s Crossing
- Ackerly Ave, Benalla is closed between the Midland Hwy and Arundel St, and at Mitchell St
- Benalla-Tatong Rd (Samaria Rd) is closed between Shawbrook Ave and Plum Lane

- Farmers should consider moving livestock and machinery to higher ground
- Floodwater is dangerous - never drive, walk or ride through floodwater.
