It was spotted and photographed by a number of local s about 1.30pm.
The photos have been shared multiple times through social media, with Victorian Storm Chasers and major television channels picking up the chatter.
The weather phenomenon seemed to be most visible to those locals living to the north-east of Deniliquin.
Charlea Clarke was in the garden of her Blighty home when she saw he storm approaching.
“I was outside gardening, listening and watching the storm form,” she siad.
“It didn’t take long to form, and it was over quite quickly.”
Lonni Grimwood also had her camera at the ready when the funnel appeared, and it’s her photo that caught the attention of Victorian Storm Chasers.
It has since been re-shared by Higgins Storm Chasing and the Today Show, among others.
Mrs Grimwood said she was driving home toward Lower Toc Rd and stopped at the side of the road to take the snap.
“I saw the storm brewing and pulled up on the highway, in someone’s driveway, to see what was forming,” she said.
The photo was sent to family via Snapchat, with one member then sharing it through other social media channels.
