More than 65 community members and visitors joined veterans and their families at 10.30am in Merrigum Memorial Hall, commemorating the Australian and New Zealand army, navy and air force personnel who served or are serving in war.
The service was organised by the Merrigum Hall committee and was led by Merrigum Primary School principal Tony Shannon.
Merrigum CFA representatives and Merrigum Primary School students Daniel Viney and Luca Horder placed wreaths to honour fallen soldiers on behalf of their communities.
Special guest speakers included Julie Henderson, who spoke proudly of her family connections to the war, and Brent Zito, who led the attendees through prayer by reading a Bible verse.
Attendees were then invited to gather for morning tea, organised by the Merrigum Hall committee.
The Merrigum Hall committee would like to thank Mike Nowosad, who provided audio for the event, and everyone who helped out on the day.
