An age group that has been missing from the club roster for a number of years, president Melyssa Banks said recruitment is taking place now.
Players are also needed to bolster the under-14s (fourths) football side, Banks has said.
Banks said the ‘Cutters is a “family friendly club”, and urged anyone interested in having a run in junior footy to head along to training from 6pm on Thursdays.
The ‘Cutters are also on the look out for fourths after fielding only 16 players in the side last year.
A full team is 18 players, and clubs always strive to have a few extra bodies on the bench to allow for substitutes.
Leading the under-14s in 2024 will be coaches Luke Egan and Luke Ward.
Banks said overall, the club is aiming to have a great year from all sides, which is then also good for the community.
“If you haven’t joined a team already, come along and join Mathoura,” she said.
“We’re a very welcoming club.
“February 1 will be the official season launch, with a chance to meet the coaches.
“We’ll also put on a barbecue.”
