SOS — The Australian ABBA Tribute Show is making a return performance with all your favourite tunes.
Sam Bennett, the Björn of the group, knows it will be a night you will never forget.
“I love Björn, he has got a great energy on stage, he is always bouncing around and hyping up the crowd,” he said.
SOS — The Australian ABBA Tribute Show takes you back to 1974, when ABBA took the stage at Eurovision.
“This year marks 50 years of Ring Ring, their debut single,” Mr Bennett said.
“I think Eurovision was quite special because it is when they were really, really introduced to the world.
“And the world heard the sound that was absolutely unforgettable.”
Not only will you be on your feet dancing, you will be expected to sing along, as the band will be disappointed if you don’t.
“We love coming to the Rich River Golf Club, we have been there many times over the years,” Mr Bennett said.
“We actually had quite a wonderful show there last year.
“It was right in the thick of the floods and the club decided to go ahead with the show.
“Fortunately, the venue wasn’t affected by the flood and the show was free.
“I think the staff just really felt that the town deserved a night off.
“And I don’t think they really got a night off, because they were on their feet the whole time.”
You will hit the dance floor from the get-go, with ABBA hits such as Dancing Queen, Waterloo and Mamma Mia.
“The wonderful thing about the music of ABBA, it transcends all the generations,” Mr Bennett said.
“We will have people that saw ABBA in 1977, as well as people that are just turning 18 at the show.
“And they know the words as much as someone who was 18 in the ’70s.
“It is really wonderful, it brings people together, the music of ABBA.
“And we always see that happen at our shows.”
