Most of the early works were underground, with the installation of new services, but the construction is now in full swing above ground with the formation of the new road and pedestrian areas, including central plantations.
Over the past week, work has also been done on access at the Fryers St end of the mall where slow-moving traffic will eventually be able to enter the precinct.
Stage 2 at the northern end of the mall, between Fryers St and Stewart St, is well advanced and is expected to open in July.
Stage 3 works, between High St and Stewart St at the southern end of the mall, are due to be completed and opened in August.
Stage 4 will commence in July and open in October — this includes the Stewart St entrance to the mall.
Stage 1 works, which included the new playground in Fraser St, opened earlier this month.
