Community groups, service clubs, and sporting organisations are being urged to apply for a share of funding from the City of Greater Shepparton Council’s Community Grants Program.
Applications for the 2024-25 round close at 5pm on Monday, February 10.
The grants aim to empower locals by fostering engagement and connection while boosting the region’s economy through innovative and community-focused projects.
The council’s Community Grants Program offers financial support for a variety of initiatives that are aimed at strengthening the local community:
• Small Town Festive Decorations: Up to $3000 in funding is available to help small towns in the Greater Shepparton area decorate their main streets and public spaces with festive decorations.
• Community Matching Grants: Funding of up to $5000 is available to assist with one-off projects and events that contribute to the growth of the Greater Shepparton community.
• Minor and Major Event Grants: Up to $2000 for minor events and $5000 for major events are available to support initiatives that draw visitors, strengthen community spirit, and promote participation, inclusion, and wellbeing.
City of Greater Shepparton Mayor Shane Sali encouraged local community groups and organisations to check their eligibility and urged them to put through an application
“These grants can be a game-changer for local events or projects, helping them come to life or move forward,” he said.
“Council has allocated funding to support these initiatives, and we are eager to see this investment benefit our community and strengthen the local economy.
“If your club, group or community is eligible, I encourage you to apply before it is too late.”
With less than a month left to submit applications, eligible groups are encouraged to get in touch with the council and apply soon.
