Anne said she entered her ticket by shopping locally at Canning Arts/Fun and Games, buying Christmas presents for children in her family.
“I was asked to put a ticket in, I never win anything. I don’t know what to say, I am overwhelmed,” she said once learning of her win.
Anne said she has a son living in Kalgoorlie, WA and a daughter in Launceston, Tasmania, so the travel voucher will provide her an opportunity to visit them.
“We find it hard to travel interstate, it’s hard to fit it in the budget so this is an amazing opportunity.
“Thank you so much to the Yarrawonga Chronicle and Rosa at HelloWorld Travel,“ Anne said.
The travel voucher was made available by the Yarrawonga Chronicle in partnership with Helloworld Travel Cobram and tickets in the draw were available to people shopping locally at participating businesses.
Helloworld Travel Cobram owner and manager Rosa Luff, with the assistance of Yarrawonga Chronicle Managing Editor Jared Loughnan, drew out the lucky winner on Wednesday, December 20 at 11am in front of the Chronicle office.
Rosa thanked the Chronicle for the fantastic promotion which promotes local shopping during an important time for traders.
“This has been a wonderful promotion, and congratulations to our local winner,” Rosa said.
Jared said the promotion has been extremely popular in the lead-up to Christmas.
“We had well over two thousand tickets entered since the promotion started six weeks ago, so a lot of people have been shopping locally, which is wonderful to see,” Jared said.
“Congratulations to our winner Anne Peters, and a special thanks to Rosa and her team at Helloworld Travel Cobram for joining us in this fabulous shop local promotion.
“Also, I would like to give a shout-out to our wonderful local participating businesses: Canning Arts/Fun and Games, Wingates Intersport, Bike Locker, Blooms the Chemist, Judds Yarrawonga, Rich Glen Yarrawonga, Terry White Chemmart, Dominques Jewellers and Skin Ski and Surf.”
