Jenny Serra, owner of Shepparton florist Blossom With Love, was working extra hours in recent days to ensure her boutique was ready for the grand occasion on Wednesday.
For Blossom With Love, Valentine’s Day is more than just a celebration; it’s a yearly tradition for the boutique, and they know how to make it special.
According to Ms Serra, the midweek Valentine’s Day rush was even more intense than the weekend madness.
“For some reason, when Valentine’s Day falls midweek, it is always busier than when it falls on the weekend,” she said.
Customers, wise enough to beat the last-minute chaos, started flocking in a day early to secure their arrangements.
When The News swung by the shop on Wednesday, they had sold out of all their stock for the day. But Ms Serra and her team weren’t about to let love slip through the cracks.
They had a stash of pampering baskets, demonstrating the team is not one to let love go uncelebrated.
Thanks to social media advertising and TV promotions, Leeanne Archer, owner at Renato’s Florist in Shepparton, has been preparing for the big day for weeks, enticing customers to pre-order and avoid any heartache due to unmet demands.
“We’ve had an overwhelming number of people celebrating the special day this year, and our pre-order strategy proved to be a great success,” Ms Archer said.
“The last few days have been absolutely crazy.”
“Surprisingly, this year has been even busier than the last,” Ms Archer said, adding this was something that caught her off guard.
Ms Archer and her dedicated team worked tirelessly to deliver about 250 flower arrangements on Valentine’s Day and hadn’t stopped there, putting in the hours to craft even more.
While red roses remained a timeless favourite, Ms Archer noted customers leaned towards more traditional arrangements.
“Valentine’s Day is that one special day when even those who don’t typically buy flowers make a beeline for our shop,” she said.
Ms Archer said they were receiving more orders still, which would be delivered Thursday for those who “forgot and got in trouble”.
