Local patients have the option to use the dental services available at Deniliquin instead, unless a buyer for the Finley clinic can be found.
The difficult decision for Local Dental to leave Finley was made due to the challenges experienced by the owners in managing three busy practices, alongside personal and family commitments.
“We want to thank our wonderful Finley community for their trust and support over the years,” said Dr Jimmi Patel and Dr Kritika Mehra.
“This decision has not been easy, but we're committed to ensuring a smooth transition for our patients, whether that’s with a new owner in Finley or with us in Deniliquin.
“Our priority is to find someone who will care for the community as much as we have.”
The Local Dental team say in the event a buyer cannot be found, Local Dental will relocate its Finley branch to its Deniliquin clinic, located just 40 minutes away.
Patients will be able to continue their care seamlessly with the same dentist at this location, Dr Patel said.
“We’re optimistic that the outcome will be quite a positive one,” he said.
“Patients will be able to have their appointments with the same dentists at the same time, only in Deniliquin.
“There is more state-of-the-art technology and more procedures that we can do in the Deniliquin clinic.
“The availability also opens up significantly from only Monday and Tuesday, with only so many clinical hours to allocate, to four days with more clinical hours.
“It means we’ll be able to treat more patients.”
Dr Patel and Dr Mehra emphasised their gratitude to the Finley community for their ongoing support since 2016 and pledged to keep patients informed throughout the transition.
