Education is another area she identified, with Labor proposing increased public school funding, a 20 per cent reduction in student debt and free TAFE schemes.

Ms Chesters has visited Rochester since the announcement of its redistribution, identifying similar concerns to the wider electorate, like GP access and cost-of-living.
She said recovery from the 2022 floods was an ongoing concern for the town and she felt it was unacceptable that some people were still not living in their homes.
If re-elected, Ms Chesters said she would work with Campaspe Shire Council like she has with other councils in the Bendigo electorate.
She believes she has been a strong voice for the region in parliament and has an understanding of the unique challenges that regional areas face, as well as how to advocate on these.
