Lions club president Patsy Lansdown said at the presentation at the Emerald Bank Woolshed in Kialla the awardees, all Shepparton residents, received a badge and a certificate presented by Lions Club District Governor Keith Yates.
Richard Lilley was awarded for 40 years of service; Terry Collison, for 35 years of service; Graeme Dealy, for 34 years of service; Cam Mangiamelli, for 30 years of service; Irene Crawford, for 21 years of service and Chris Scott, for 17 years of service.
City of Greater Shepparton Mayor Kim O’Keeffe attended the function as a guest speaker.
Ms Lansdown said the awardees had contributed significant “time and effort” to the club and community.
She said the members had been involved in projects such as Circus Quirkus, harness racing, donating funds for the Sailability Club Shepparton’s rescue boat and plantoon, and many barbecues.
They have also been involved in donations to disaster relief for bushfires, floods and the Ukrainian war, as well as organisations which provide support for children with diabetes.
Mr Collison is the national district distributor and co-ordinator for Christmas cakes and pudding that are given out every year.
