However, Legacy Shepparton is looking for more people to help sell the badges.
Legacy Week runs from August 28 to September 3, but badges will be for sale across Shepparton and Mooroopna from September 1 to 3 due to a lack of volunteers to sell them.
‘Badge day’ is the first Friday in September, and encourages people to buy and wear badges.
Legacy Week Shepparton co-ordinator and legatee Jack Thewlis said there were fewer volunteers putting their hands up to sell badges across the region this year, which meant fewer days of them on sale.
The badges will be for sale at most shopping centres and out the front of most supermarkets, as well as in stores such as Bunnings.
This year marks the 99th year of Legacy, which cares for the families of veterans who died in combat, with Legacy Week running since the 1940s.
Mr Thewlis said it was an important occasion.
“We only come to the public once a year, but we take the money for widows and people in need,” he said.
He also encouraged anyone who was interested or able to come forward and volunteer to sell badges by contacting Legacy Shepparton on Monday, Wednesday or Friday on 5821 5525.
