Lyndon Galea started in the role in late March following the resignation at the end of 2021 of the project’s founding executive officer Lisa McKenzie after a decade.
According to GSLP, Mr Galea resigned citing personal and family reasons three weeks into the role.
Board chairman Adam Furphy said the organisation was confident there would be minimal disruption to operations despite the changes.
“Whilst Lyndon’s departure is disappointing, the Lighthouse board and staff sincerely wish him all the best in his future endeavours,” Mr Furphy said.
“Fortunately, our board was well-positioned with several eligible and outstanding candidates having initially applied for the role and we are very pleased Amy has now accepted the position.
“Amy comes with an extensive understanding of GSLP operations and is exceptionally well positioned to lead our organisation.”
Ms Robinson initially pursued a career in hospitality after completing high school at Notre Dame College in Shepparton.
With a degree in business management and further studies in training and assessment under her belt, Ms Robinson joined Berry Street in 2012 and oversaw the delivery of accredited training to at-risk youth in the Seymour and Shepparton communities.
She started with GSLP in February 2018 in the role of co-ordinator of secondary education and innovation.
In her time with the organisation, she has led several co-designed community initiatives promoting engagement in secondary school and assisting with transitioning to work or further study.
Ms Robinson believes her skills across business, education and the service sectors, together with her passion for social justice, will serve her well in leading positive change for those facing challenges in the Shepparton region.
“I feel very privileged to now lead such an amazing and dedicated team and the wider Lighthouse family,” she said.
“I have a deep appreciation for our local community and understanding of the complexities regarding the grassroots challenges many local youth face.
“I am extremely driven to take the next step and build on Lighthouse’s amazing outcomes to date.”
