At least one player from outside division one will feature in the final, with Euroa’s Ken Sutcliffe and Tallygaroopna’s Lindsay Muston to square off in one semi-final on Sunday.
The other half of the draw will have Nagambie’s Greg Brack tackle East Shepparton young gun Connor Trewren, both in search of their maiden title.
Trewren’s run to the final four involved him pulling off some close wins, seeing off Stanhope’s Shane Walsh 25-21 before producing more clutch bowls to beat Hill Top’s Lee Farrell 25-23.
A back-and-forth quarter-final had Farrell lead 15-9 before Trewren came charging back, coming up with the goods after the scores were locked at 23 in the first-to-25 battle.
His semi-final opponent Brack had a far easier time punching his ticket, smashing Shepparton Park’s Paul Warren 25-4.
The other side of the draw had surprise packet Muston win a thriller against Murchison’s Derek Anderson, getting up by the slimmest of margins in a 25-24 win.
His biggest win for the day came in a huge upset against Shepparton Golf’s John Stokes, seeing him off 25-13 to make the semi-final.
Muston’s club title was already a big result, having emerged from a quality field that included Mark Ryan and Joey Lia.
Perennial Champion of Champions finalist Sutcliffe could well be the favourite heading into Sunday, after a professional display took him back to the semis.
The 2000-01 Champion of Champions saw off Violet Town’s Graham Jones 25-12 as well as Tatura’s Peter Lesueur 25-17.
The semi-finals, third place playoff and final take place on Sunday at Stanhope.
