Michelle Milthorpe seemed to be donning the same colour as the pumpkins on show day.

Community cheer leads teams to finals sucess
While Deniliquin’s sporting teams had their eyes on the prize across the weekend, there were plenty of sets of eyes watching over them.
With A-grade sharing their Deni Memorial Park home with the Deni Show for the weekend, community members also showed up in good number to see the Rhinos in action in their semi-final.
Play started Saturday, and continued Sunday with an equally strong crowd.
Both Deniliquin and Barooga supporters were riding every run and wicket in a close finish.
In the spirit of the game, players and supporters stuck around after the game concluded on Sunday for celebrations in the Rhinos bar.
There was also good support at Berrigan for the Rhinos C-grade game.
Both Deni sides will now play in grand finals this weekend.

Milthorpe blends into pumpkin patch
Independent candidate for Farrer Michelle Milthorpe couldn’t help but wander into the Deni Show’s pumpkin patch on Saturday.
Not only because of the large number of huge entries, but because she also felt at home among so much of her trademark campaign colour of orange.
Mrs Milthorpe was sighted around the showgrounds chatting with people from all walks of life, to gain an insight of local issues and drum up support for her campaign to be elected this year.
Mrs Milthorpe’s main campaign topics are the cost of living, housing, the environment, transparency and accountability, sustainability of agricultural communities and health care.
If you missed her at the show, you can learn more about Mrs Milthorpe campaign by visiting her Deniliquin campaign hub in Cressy St.

Ride ends well
In this column last week we featured former local Chris Rewnick and his fellow BMW Motorcycle Club of Victoria, who had stopped in Deni as part of a four day, 1800km ride.
We caught them as they arrived in Deni Monday, before lunch with Chris’ uncle Lindsay Renwick.
While Chris Renwick was not the tour co-ordinator, he was given the honour of organising the Deni leg of the club ride because of his local knowledge.
At the completion of the ride, Chris decided to send us another photo from the trip.
“I couldn’t come to Deni and not show them the famous Ute Muster site,” he said.
