Once the helmets came off, it became evident that every singe rider in the group was female.
All members of the Dykes on Bikes Melbourne sector founded in 1976, they stopped in Deni for a pit stop on their way to Hay for the Rainbow on The Plains Festival at the weekend.
Therese Butcher is the lead rider in the group, a former local.
“We were passing through my home town of Deni, so we thought we would make a stop.
“We wanted to head to Hay and support the community there, on such an awesome weekend they present.”
The Melbourne sector met up with their Sydney counterparts at the festival.
The Rainbow on The Plains Festival began in 2018 and is a festival of fun, support and inclusion.
It is a celebration of local and visiting lesbian, gay, bi, trans and intersex communities, their friends and families.
The three day event ended Sunday, and included an iconic parade, music, fireworks, food trucks, markets, roller discos and a Women’s AFL game - just to name a few.
