He will replace CAGS’ current principal Steve Gale, who is retiring after holding the role since 2012.
Mr Willett will take on the position from Monday, July 13.
CAGS School Council chair Malcolm Kerr said he was delighted to welcome Mr Willett and his wife Carolyn to the school's community.
“I have no doubt Keith will continue to build upon the strong Anglican foundations and strategic educational goals that continue to develop our school towards becoming the destination of choice for both students and staff in our local community and beyond,” he said.
He said while families would not be able to meet Mr Willett directly in the foreseeable future due to COVID-19 restrictions, the school would aim to arrange a virtual meet-up with the new principal.
“We will aim to arrange an opportunity to ‘meet’ Keith next term through socialmedia and/or web conferencing,” Mr Kerr said.
Mr Willett began his career with the Office of Corrective Services, and then taught at Rushworth High School.
He moved to Galen Catholic College, before moving to Cathedral College Wangaratta, where he has held various roles over the last seven years.
In addition to being the deputy principal, he was the head of senior school, and has previously been senior school coordinator, middle school coordinator, a year level coordinator and a subject coordinator.
He has taught English, history, geography and P.E. and holds both Master's and Bachelor's degrees in Education from Deakin University.
