The One Dayer is a one-day motorcycle ride that’s held in more than 100 communities across Australia on Sunday, March 16, raising funds for mental health.
The fundraiser comes to Shepparton every year, with Kylie and Peter Comte organising the Shepparton and Seymour Black Dog Ride events.
“We’ve been helping Aussies have conversations about mental health and suicide prevention for almost 16 years, and we know that every conversation, every ride and every moment of awareness we create can change lives,” they said.
“Through the One Dayer event, we’re inviting Shepparton and Seymour locals to join us in breaking down the barriers of silence, encouraging friends, family and colleagues to seek the support they need to manage mental illness and lead fulfilling lives.”
Black Dog Ride ambassador and World SuperSport rider Tom Edwards is also encouraging the community to get behind the cause.
“Whether you’re keen to sign up or donate, looking for new social connections and a like-minded and supportive community who have dealt with loss or mental health struggles, or simply want to come out and check out the ride, we’d love to see more Aussies getting involved with the One Dayer ride,” he said.
Last year’s event featured almost 6000 participants nationally and raised a total of $435,000.
