This committee is intended to serve as a crucial bridge between GV Health and Euroa residents, ensuring that the community’s voices and needs are at the heart of healthcare service improvements.
GV Health chief executive Matt Sharp said the committee would follow a model successfully implemented across GV Health’s other health services and emphasised the importance of community involvement.
“The transition of acute care services from Euroa Health to GV Health has been very successful, thanks to the hard work of many people, including the Euroa Integration Community Reference Group, who helped provide an important community perspective on a range of topics,” he said.
“Now, our goal is to strengthen GV Health’s relationship with the local community.
“Our priority is providing high-quality, local acute care services for people in the Strathbogie Shire, and we know from experience that local advice and support will be essential to our success.”
Members will work closely with hospital leaders to drive positive changes, enhance patient experience and boost overall health outcomes.
The committee will have up to 12 members, with six meetings, held every two months, per year.
Ideal candidates will be available for consultation with GV Health and the community and show eagerness to engage in dialogue, work in collaboration and participate actively in relevant forums.
Interested community members can apply by sending a brief one-page letter explaining their motivation and potential contributions to the committee to Euroa Hospital director of nursing Stuart Riddett.
