The Numurkah Agricultural and Pastoral Society, which runs the event, is hoping the granting of a public holiday will ensure the attendance of larger numbers of families.
The 2022’s show’s theme will be ‘bees’, with pavilion exhibitions holding classes to highlight the importance of bees within the agricultural system.
Numurkah Agricultural and Pastoral Society is encouraging local community groups to get involved in the show by setting up information booths to advertise what they are about.
Booths will be free of charge and the event is being billed as a great chance for groups to raise community awareness and interact with the public.
Numurkah Show Junior Rural Ambassador Sophie Hodge will open the show this year.
Events include show jumping, cattle judging, harness horses and shearing displays.
For the younger show goers there will be a colouring-in competition.
The show’s office, located next to Brennan’s Veterinary in Numurkah, will be open from October 10 to 15 for those wishing to enter into any of the sections.
The schedule of arena events and pavilion classes is on the Numurkah Show website, and a hard copy booklet will be available in the next couple of weeks.
A call has also been made for anyone with experience with livestock who wants to volunteer with the running of the day to come forward.
Show secretary Jeff Stanyer is hoping the event will draw large crowds.
“It’s the first show since 2019 and it’s an event that binds the town, both young and old, together,” Mr Stanyer said.
Should you wish to volunteer to help run the show contact Mr Stanyer on 0419 135 909.
