With a wealth of experience spanning four to five decades, Irene has showcased her sewing prowess in various categories at the Deniliquin Show, honing her craft over the years.
She has enjoyed participating in and entering various other sewing competitions over the years, further refining her skills.
This festive season, Irene has channelled her creative passion and sewing expertise to make the decorations, offering residents a chance to adorn their trees with unique, homemade treasures.
“There’s no particular reason for doing it; I enjoy it and use them in my home,” she said.
“They take about an hour, if I sit down and really focus on them.”
Irene joins a host of talented locals who are embracing the Christmas spirit, using their skills to bring joy and festive cheer to the community through their handcrafted creations.
Irene’s decorations feature all the traditional Christmas characters and items of significance to the holiday, including snowmen, stockings, reindeer and even the great man himself, Santa.
