The $61,475 grant is for one of four projects identified by council as high priority in its Pedestrian Access and Mobility Plan (PAMP) when it submitted the grant application in April 2022.
Council has been advised all four applications for grants, totalling $371,401 under the TfNSW Walking and Cycling Program it applied for, have been successful.
The other three projects are for a 760m path in Wanstead Street Corowa, from John Street to Dawe Street of $192,407 and two in Howlong: for 350m in Golf Club Drive to Read Street ($107,088) and 220m from Pell Street to Kennedy Street ($68,180).
The four projects total $429,150 with TfNSW providing an additional $41,000 contingency to allow for unexpected additional costs.
Council’s contribution is to design and project manage each project which will involve $55,748.
All shared paths will be constructed in concrete to TfNSW minimum standard width of 2.5m.
“The projects were submitted to the Traffic Committee for consideration as required by the funding deed and the projects must be completed by June 30, 2023,” Federation Council’s director engineering services Steve Carmichael said at council’s latest monthly meeting on January 31.
