An outdoor ice-skating rink was officially opened for business on Saturday as the entree ahead of the main course which doubles as the 2023 Moama Lights.
The rink has opened to coincide with the school holidays, which begins today in Victoria and some parts of southern NSW.
It operates from 11am to 5pm from Monday to Thursday and 11am to 9pm on Friday to Sunday.
Those getting their skates on will do so just a stone’s throw from where this year’s Moama Lights extravaganza takes place.
The iconic Horseshoe Lagoon will become a spectacular exhibition of light and sound from this Friday through to July 23.
Created and produced by world-renowned design studio Mandylights, 2023 Moama Lights will take visitors on a powerful journey through the elements of air, fire, water and earth.
It will be split into seven zones, guiding event-goers through an interactive story which showcases the wonders of the earth and the beauty of the bush.
More than 25,000 visitors took in last year’s event, a figure that may well be eclipsed with the array of other activities.
In addition to the outdoor skating rink, there is the American Hotel beer garden, food trucks and kids entertainment.
Moama Lights will run over four weekends, with tickets sold in sessions.
