Both were awarded an Order of Australia Medal (OAM) and presented with a certificate of acknowledgement for their service to the community at Moira Shire Council’s latest meeting on March 26.
A proud member of Lions since 1999, Debbie's commitment to helping others has been unwavering.
Her work with the Turban Angels has led to the distribution of more than 75,000 free turbans to oncology wards across Australia and six other countries.
Stephen was recognised for his outstanding dedication, leadership, and service throughout his 29-year career with Ambulance Victoria.

Moira Shire Council chair administrator, Graeme Emonson said it was an honour to celebrate the achievements of people who go above and beyond in their community.
“Debbie and Stephen’s extraordinary service to the community though charity, leadership and emergency response continues to make a lasting impact on our shire and inspires many,” Dr Emonson said.
“This well-deserved recognition reflects their dedication to helping others, and their efforts have made a difference to many people – locally and further afield.
“Council congratulates them for all they have achieved, and the difference they continue to make in the community through education and training, care and support, and compassion and service.”
