A free workshop tailored specifically for owners of small/hobby farms and lifestyle blocks with livestock, poultry and/or dairy will be hosted by Murray Local Land Services next weekend.

It will be hosted at Long Table Cafe, on McLaurin's Rd, Warragoon and topics covered will include:
• Introduction to livestock identification requirements;
• How to use the National Livestock Identification System (NLIS);
• Poultry biosecurity: protecting your flock from Avian Influenza;
• What you can and can’t feed pigs; and
• Butter and cheese making.
Long Table owner Kathy Smits will conduct a cooking demonstration showing participants how to collect cream, make butter and cheese (Halloumi).
She will also take participants on a tour of the farm.
The workshop will be held Saturday, April 5 from 10am to 2pm.
