However, although these artists and their captivating work can be found all around us, they often lack a dedicated place to showcase it.
The concept of Heart the Art magazine, created by the team at lovethegv, aims to address this need. Not only does it celebrate artists on its pages, but it has also locked in a date for a combined artist exhibition.
Heart the Art content director and writer Kelly Carmody said that from the first page to the last, it was a magazine you were going to want to get your hands on.
As for the exhibition, it’s an event not to be missed.
“Each page is like a colourful canvas of creativity, almost like a local artist directory all in one place — it’s next-level stunning from the first page until the last and a coffee table keeper for years to come,” she said.
“All of the 23 featured artists I have been working with over the past few months have unbelievable talent, are unique in their own ways, and each is so deserving of celebration.
“To have them all in one place for the magazine is one thing, but to get them all together now for a massive joint exhibition will be incredible — I can’t wait.”
Kicking off at 11:30am on Friday, August 16, which is also the day the magazine becomes available to the public, the Shepparton Brewery has kindly opened its doors to support these artists with a collaborative exhibition running until 2:30pm that afternoon.
The event is free to attend, everyone is welcome, and the artists are excited to showcase their work together.
“What a venue to hold an event like this at. Great vibe, good food and lovely service,” Kelly said.
“People can come down, have a bite to eat and a drink, or simply meet the artists, check out their incredible work, and have a chat with them.
“Our vibrant arts community needs to be celebrated and supported, and I hope both the magazine and the exhibition will give them the recognition they all deserve.
“See you at the Shepparton Brewery.”
Heart the Art magazine is available for free after purchasing either The News or Riverine Herald on Friday, August 16. Copies will also be available at the exhibition.
