Organisers report to have completed about 80 mini health checks in their tent at the Deniliquin Festival Site on Saturday - well above their average uptake.
Conducting the checks were local doctors and other health staff, supported by the Deniliquin Local health Advisory Committee, which also distributed a lot of important health information.
Of those who were checked out, some were given advice to see their local GPs for follow-ups.
Also included in the health hub zone was the Healthy Heads in Trucks and Sheds group and The Holistic Care Collective conducting skin checks.
Mini tornado sweeps through Truck Show
Speaking of the health hub, quite a few of the health brochures will have ended up in very unusual places after a mini tornado swept through the Deni Festival Site on Saturday.
While perfectly sunny and warm, the wind did pose a bit of a problem toward the end of the event on Saturday.
The mini tornado formed right in front of the presentation and auction stage, taking a few sheets listing the auction prizes with it as it went by.
It was taken rapidly a fair distance into the sky, before it was collected by a hovering eagle for its nest.
Once the tornado passed the assembly area it made its way toward some of the stalls.
What followed was a fairly impressive, but probably annoying, swirl of flyers taken from some of the tables.
The gust lasted a couple of minutes before calming down and proceedings continuing.
Theft dampens great show
Crime, and in particular theft of a brazen nature, has become a growing trend in Deniliquin.
With stores along the main St being targeted in a recent string of break and enters, it was alarming to learn a similar instance had taken place following the conclusion of this year's Truck Show.
After the show, an invited guest and displaying business reported some items had been removed from their vehicles while parked at an accommodation provider in Crispe St.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Deniliquin Police on 5881 9299 or CrimeStoppers on 1300 333 000.
Santa cant make it to stadium
Just days after promoting Santa photos and remarking how quickly spots were being filled, the Deniliquin Stadium has had to unfortunately cancel its plans.
The news came through over the weekend, following the announcement on Friday that the stadium would be holding the photos with the man himself.
The Deniliquin Stadium will now start refunding the money that parents and families will have paid for the photo shoot with Santa.
