The Liberals’ Long-Term Economic Plan is a statewide $160 million package that would see improved services in Shepparton and surrounds.
Ms Hammer said the Coalition would undertake a review of the span, area and frequency of services, increase services to meet the first three departures from the railway station on weekdays, and increase the frequency of Saturday services and introduce services on Sundays.
The plan would also provide for new routes and increased service on existing routes for new developments in Kialla, Shepparton North and Shepparton East and nearby towns such as Tatura, which Ms Hammer said were currently under-serviced.
"This follows our commitments to deliver $2 flat fares for public transport and half-price V/Line fares, making it more accessible and affordable for all Victorians to travel locally and around our state,” Ms Hammer said.
“A review of our bus services is well overdue, with services lacking in many areas of our towns, as well as in areas that have been developed since the bus routes and timetables were set.
“I advocated for this review and better access to buses in 2018, and am pleased that we are now committing to building a better bus service for our residents, allowing them to get where they need to go, faster, cheaper and more efficiently.”
