Onlookers at Nagambie Recreation Reserve were treated to a brilliant batting performance from sibling duo Mark (64) and Luke (37) Nolan, as the brothers combined for an important 110-run partnership.
The match crept along to finish inside the final five overs, as the home side successfully chased down Euroa's 7-161 with four wickets in hand.
Saturday's result keeps Nagambie inside the competition's top four after the opening month, which left captain Mark Nolan happy.
“It was nice to grab another win at home,” Mark said.
“We were pretty happy to restrict them to 160 runs batting first after a couple of their batsmen got starts.
“And we were able to chase them down quite comfortably in the end, which was pleasing.”
Euroa elected to bat first and posted 7-161 off its 45 overs, with youngster Josh Robertson (34) and second-gamer Mahesh Priyadarshana (30) enjoying time out in the middle.
Nagambie's Nathan Fothergill picked up 2-18 from nine overs and enjoyed a great return from injury to be the home side's leading attacker with the ball.
In reply, Nagambie was 2-21 after not many overs as the run chase was left to the Nolans to conquer.
“Losing both of our openers wasn't ideal, but we were able to re-group and gather ourselves,” Mark Nolan said.
“It was nice to bat with Luke, he's really level-headed and that helps me out in the middle.
“Unfortunately, we weren't able to get us across the line in the end, but the boys finished things off nicely.”
Nolan said having his brother back at the club had been welcome and expected the wicketkeeper batsmen to score plenty of runs in the coming weeks.
“It's great having him out there, he helps me a lot with decision-making out in the field,” he said.
“He's started really well with the gloves and bat, he has got starts with the bat in each game so far.
“No doubt he can pencil in a big score soon.”
THE GAME
Euroa 7-161 (Josh Robertson 34, Nathan Fothergill 2-18) lost to Nagambie 6-162 (Mark Nolan 64, Luke Nolan 37)
STAR PLAYER
Mark Nolan (Nagambie): That is three straight man-of-the-match performances from the Lakers skipper, but Saturday's probably meant the most after combining with his brother Luke for 110 runs. The captain's 64 was a match-high effort and he backed that up with a handy 1-19 opening the bowling. The reigning Lightfoot medallist continues to dominate the competition and looks set to enjoy another strong year.
