Scores were noticeably higher in the second round of GVBBL Fantasy and Jaensch cashed in, staying seven points ahead of Jockeys 11 coach Paul McInnes.
The round's top-scorer was Josh Pearce, who reeled in a massive 453 thanks to five players scoring more than 50.
With two games going down to the wire, more wickets fell and all four teams spent their 20 overs in the middle with bat in hand, giving more runs — and excitingly for fans in the crowd — more sixes.
Taylor Beard led the way in the scoring tally, with the Mud Dogs’ all-rounder hitting 48 and taking a wicket and a catch on his way to 78 points.
Peter Cassidy was next-best with 62 after taking two wickets and a catch to go with 12 with the bat, while hat-trick hero Jaensch finished with 60.
Ramadan Yze, Tyron Baden, Jack Craig and Dutch import Scott Edwards all finished with a half-ton or more, the latter taking four catches behind the stumps.
Joel Brett, Jedd Wright and Kyle Mueller continued their strong form making 40s, while Adam Ward's two wickets helped boost his total to 43 after making three with the bat.
Popular selection Michael Eckard again couldn't make a splash in the score tally despite sensational Haisman Shield form, with the Panthers all-rounder scoring 15, while Mud Dogs marquee Jack Neylon and Mitch Winter-Irving scored single-figure totals.
At the other end of the leaderboard, The News' own Alex Mitchell and Liam Nash showed the importance of getting a team in, with the pair missing the cut-off of the first ball of Sunday's game and being handed their teams from last week.
Ron Anderson leads the way for The News with a massive 423 from the weekend to move into fourth place.
