Good as Gold is an Australian historical fiction re-imagining of the first Melbourne Cup, in 1861.
The story follows an escaped orphan, a copper and his prisoner, and a gang of bushrangers travelling to Melbourne town for the cup.
Each is looking for something different — a new beginning, a chance to make history, to win a prize — but in the end, only one can get the gold.
