The groups have been granted a share of the funding under two grants programs — the community matching grants program and the access and inclusion grants program.
Ten groups shared $32,868.50 in round one of the matching grants program.
Recipients included Tatura Civic Halls Inc, Shepparton Access, Tallygaroopna Men’s Shed and Siasi Uesiliana Tau’ataina o Tonga i Aositelelia, Shepparton branch, which each received $5000 under the scheme.
Shepparton Access received the largest grant under the Access and Inclusion program.
It has been granted $10,000 for the construction of a covered parking area at Eco Park to increase the safety of visitors, staff and participants.
City of Greater Shepparton Mayor Shane Sali welcomed seeing money being distributed back into the community.
“We are always pleased to deliver grants and funding to community groups and organisations that need a helping hand to achieve their goals, whether that be through hosting an event, purchasing upgraded equipment, improving access for the community, or running workshops and training programs,” he said.
“We understand how important this grant funding can be, and we look forward to seeing these successful applicants put the funding to good use.”
